ABOUT THIS BLOG
Eric Wegerbauer – Blogger. WHY?
For one thing, I am not here to change what is wrong with digital culture, or to utter claims of the newest ‘com-craze’ that promises to be the next dernier cri.
no.
It is that type of overused rhetoric that J.G. Ballard calls “invisible literature”…filled with words but empty of content - a regurgitation of what so many other people are already saying.
Instead, it is far more rewarding to simply enter into a meaningful conversation. We are living in a time that almost chokes us with innovation and change. This progression can not be forecast on a spread sheet, so why not jump in and move forward with discussion. This is one of the most valuable lessons I learned while working for Frank Gehry…on the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain our curved walls could not be built of metal, and with the Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles the organ could not have curved pipes. Moving forward, we continued the convesation and found a way. We asked questions, had conversations, and when we heard ‘impossible’ we went to someone else and started the conversation again. So here I am…starting conversations, looking for dialogue, and always moving forward.
